Gophers dig hundreds of feet of shallow tunnels every month, pushing mounds of soil onto the landscape surface daily as they forage for roots of trees, vines, grass and young plants, destroying those plants above the ground. But gopher damage doesn’t stop there! Tunnels of pocket gophers in banks of ditches and earthen dams can weaken structures, causing loss of water, piping through, and complete loss of a bank.

 

Gopher tunnels also cause injuries to pets and family when surface soil collapses, and the tunnels threaten the integrity and safety of utility lines, water pipes, sprinkler systems and other underground irrigation networks.
